The Hot Spot

Living the Dream Medal fund created to award stipends to U.S. wrestlers who medal at Worlds and Olympics

USA Wrestling proudly announces the Living the Dream Medal Fund.

We have created the Fund with the purpose of allowing the entire wrestling community to participate in celebrating and honoring the hard work of our champions. While we understand that no wrestling champion wrestles ‘for the money”, this Fund will send a strong message to our elite athletes that their glory is our collective glory and their hard work and dedication is appreciated. U.S. World and Olympic team members are our ambassadors to the global wrestling community. The long journey from pee wee wrestler to an Olympic medalist requires a level of determination, of sweat, of pain, of time on the road, and in the gym, and on the mats…of dieting, deprivation, almost madness. NY – USA WRESTLING
MISSION STATEMENT

“The Mission of NY - USA Wrestling shall be to Develop, Implement, and Promote a seasonal structure of education, training, and competition in Freestyle, Greco-Roman, and Folkstyle wrestling across the different Age Groups, ranging from Kids to Open levels, modeling first the Olympic Movement as set forth by our National governing Body, while addressing the needs and expanding opportunities for all Athletes, Coaches, and Officials in our sport.”

Coaches, Parents and Fans,

Wrestling is a great sport for youth to enjoy!  Today, make sure that all children are treated with respect and leave this event with a smile on their face

Wrestling is a fantastic teacher of positive American values-- top among those is sportsmanshipInappropriate behavior by adults at today's event will not be tolerated.

Don't let your emotions get the better of you.  We want all of these kids to love this sport and be a part of it for years to come.  Make sure your demeanor and attitude reflects positively on this goal.
